I love otome games, and I love game-to-anime adaptations. Unfortunately, the two usually don't blend that well. This is due in part to the nature of otome games: multiple endings/outcomes, different routes, character issues, etc. DIABOLIK LOVERS had me raging by the end of the first episode.
There are things I liked about it, to be sure, and I do plan on watching the series in its entirety. The biggest problem I have with the series is that although it spans twelve episodes, these 'episodes' only last fifteen minutes. You heard me right, fifteen minutes.
The start of the series didn't throw me off because, thankfully, I've played through most of the routes in the game (Still haven't finished it, though.) It does skip a lot of the game's initial plot, but you get a good idea of what's in store for Yui towards the end of the first episode. But if you've never played the game, then this anime won't make much sense because they blow through the plot so quickly. 「(゚ペ)

With "Diabolik Lovers," looks can be deceiving. Don't let those wide eyes and that cute smile fool you; Kanato is a clingy, abusive yandere-type whose temperament is prone to dramatic shifts at any given moment. (*´・v・) Ironically enough, he is the most tolerable of the bunch, besides Reiji. That's just my opinion, though.

THIS GUY. It goes without saying that Raito holds a special place in my heart. I can't recall the last time I loathed a character as much as I do him. Is it because of his cutesy pet name for Yui, Bitch-chan? Or maybe it's his squicky personality and general attitude? ( ゚д゚) I didn't care for him in the game, and the anime has reinforced that dislike.

Poor Yui LOL. I understand that she's in a precarious situation, but if I were in her shoes, I'd put up way more resistance to the Sakamaki brothers' advances. I love pretty boys, but that doesn't mean I won't hesitate to defend myself, even if it means kicking them in the ----. Here's looking at you, Raito~ щ(ಠ益ಠщ)
Sen's Verdict: This anime is a nice treat for fans of the game, but if you haven't played the game, then I wouldn't recommend watching it or you'll be asking yourself what the heck just happened by the end of the first episode. 【・ヘ・?】

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
