ドットカレシ-We're 8bit Lovers!- Ⅰ～でんせつのおとめ～ (Dot Kareshi-We're 8bit Lovers!- I~Densetsu no Otome~) is a visual novel and otome game. The theme of the game is based on classic RPG's like Dragon Quest (Which Brave mentions in his return ending.) This game series is close to my heart because I, like the heroine, spent an ungodly amount of time with my games. Heck, I still do. But because the heroine left her game and never finished it, the characters inside the game became warped! Er, personality-wise, that is. They're all a bunch of perverts now, and it's all YOUR fault. Let's visit the wonderful world of Unlimited Quest! ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)ﾉ

This game was so much fun. If you can read Japanese and are looking for a short but refreshing otome experience, then I highly recommend the Dot Kare series.




First up is Brave/Yuusha. Because you used only brute force to charge your way through the game, he became quite the destructive brute. He barges into strangers' houses smashing pots, and taking whatever he pleases. Like the rest of his dysfunctional party, Brave is a perv. His favorite thing to do is stuff his face in your boobs. (*´∀`*)

Despite his position as leader of the group, I don't think Brave is all that great. He's cute, to be sure, but he's also whiny. I didn't like his route that much (Except for the return ending.) But yeah, he's definitely my least favorite of the first game.




Next up is Wizard/Mahoutsukai. Because you turned off the effect movies for his magic, he became very bitter and disheartened. Don't let that fool you, though. He's just as pervy as the rest of the party.

OMG. I have this weakness for めがね. Couple that with Wizard's awesome seiyuu, his adorable attitude towards you, and his intelligence level...WE HAVE A WINNER! Wizard's route was the most enjoyable for me. I couldn't stop laughing, and his return ending was...ahem. セクシー. ♪(´ε｀ )




Then we have Priest/Souryo. He's an 俺様 do-S type without a care for anyone unless they...pray to him. You used his healing abilities way to much, so he became full of himself and deemed himself a God.

Oh, Priest. I love him so. Maybe it's because I have a weakness for 俺様 types? I'm not sure, but I enjoyed his route. His return ending is uber cute also (He kisses you EIGHT times. I kept track.) He's a pervert despite his claim to being 'pure' and 'wholly devoted' to his duties as a priest.




If you're looking for romance, then Thief/Shiifu is your man. He's a flashy little flirt with an overconfidence in his stealing ability. He can steal anything. Lol Brave even sends him to steal your towel in the hot springs.

All throughout the quest Thief showers you with affection. He's a perv, but he's also a sweetheart. At the end of his quest, he gives you the very item they came to get: The Fairy Queen's Tiara. He says you look beautiful, like a princess. ♥～(‘▽^人) I adore Thief, as much as I do Wizard.


Sen's Verdict: This is a great game for folks just entering the otome scene and veterans alike. Support Rejet and buy it from them! You won't regret it!
